Next comes Tirta Gangga, a water palace of ponds, fountains, and koi, and then Taman Ujung, an elegant garden palace that came through both an eruption of Agung and an earthquake with its grandeur intact. The day ends at Virgin Beach: pale sand, warm water, and hardly anyone around.
